Broadband Infrastructure for Government (BIG)

NCS developed the BIG project to improve data connectivity for government agencies.  BIG provides an “Anywhere Computing Environment”, allowing easy and secure access to government information resources anytime, anywhere using any media.  More than 150 remote sites are currently connected to BIG.

BIG makes use of the latest technologies such as:

• VPN (secure data traffic)
• Broadband capable (through ATM)
• MPLS (scalable connection)
   

Public Services Infrastructure (PSi)

NCS played a key role as the consortium leader and systems integrator in the development of PSi for Singapore.  Winner of the e-Gov Award 2002 for IDA’s e-Citizen Portal, the PSi is a government-wide core infrastructure that facilitates the seamless and rapid deployment of online public services to citizens and businesses anytime, anywhere.

PSi is built using industry-standard technologies, making it portable and interoperable with other systems.  Common application services support security, e-payment mechanisms and electronic data exchange.  NCS supports PSi with round-the-clock helpdesk services for developers and system administrators of Government agencies, as well as maintenance and facility management services. 

We also complement the government’s e-services by conducting IDA-certified training programmes to Government agencies and appointed vendors.  e-Service consultancy services are also provided to applications developers that are developing PSi applications. This ensures that a consistent development standard is established.
