NCS Collaborates with 14 Singapore Government Agencies to Showcase e-Government Projects at iGov Global Exchange Exhibition

Singapore-based NCS, one of the most established infocomm technology services providers in the Asia Pacific is collaborating with 14 Singapore government agencies to present their e-Government success stories and projects at the inaugural iGov Global Exchange exhibition from 16 to 19 June 2009 at the Singapore Expo.
The government agencies at NCS’ booth, themed “Touching Lives Glocally” include the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA); the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB); the Central Provident Fund (CPF); the Housing Development Board (HDB); the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA); the Health Sciences Authority (HSA); the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC); the Land Transport Authority (LTA); the National Environment Agency (NEA); the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF); the Ministry of Law (MinLaw); the Singapore Police Force (SPF); and the Subordinate Courts of Singapore. A list of the e-Government projects at the NCS booth is on Appendix A.
The multi-collaborations underscored the long-term relationships between NCS and its government clients over the last 28 years, designing and implementing some of the country’s most sophisticated public sector systems, and involving in the ICT transformation journey of Singapore. NCS was the IT arm of the Singapore government before its eventual corporatisation in 1996 and acquisition the following year by SingTel, Asia’s leading communications Group.

The BizFile project is a radical shift from manual form based filing and registration system of companies and businesses to fully electronic transaction based filing and registration system without the need for signatures. (Category: E-Business)
*Central Narcotics Bureau: Permit Administration and Control System (PATROL).
PATROL provides a 24x7 one-stop e-service for traders to perform all transactions pertaining to permit declarations for the import, export and trans-shipment of precursor chemicals necessary in the manufacture of controlled drugs. (Category: Enriching E-xperience)

*Housing Development Board: Car Park Operations with Electronic Handheld Terminal (EHT) System on GPRS. This project uses real time GPRS technology to update parking offence information in the Electronic Handheld Terminals. Such technology adaptation ensures that information is captured promptly and allows for smoother process flow and operation of close to 700,000 parking lots. (Category: Urban Development)
*Immigration & Checkpoints Authority: E-Appointment System. ICA e-Appointment System is an e-service offered by ICA to allow Members of Public to book their appointments or change their scheduled appointments with ICA for various services provided by ICA. (Category: Enriching E-Experience)
*Health Sciences Authority: Forensic Integrated Online Applications (FIONA). To achieve the objectives of improving customer and public service, FIONA was initiated to provide an integrated system equipped with an automated workflow and RFID technology that would streamline operations, improve efficiency, ensure the accuracy of data and assure better services to public. *Service-Wide Hosting Environment (SHINE). SHINE is a shared hosting infrastructure and common services platform which allows agencies to deploy their e- services cost effectively and efficiently through a comprehensive suite of services namely secured web, application database hosting, common gateway services for authentication and e-payment, content management, reporting, billing and other shared services. *Jurong Town Corporation: Enterprise Mass Interactive Communications System (EMIC)
EMIC enables JTC to communicate with various stakeholders for emergencies, operational, business and staff communications purposes, via a single integrated communication platform (Category: Others)
*Land Transport Authority: one motoring portal (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg) &PublicTransport@SG (http://publictransport.sg). ONE.MOTORING is a customer-centric one-stop hub that offers regulatory and lifestyle information and services relating to the entire life-cycle of a vehicle including real time traffic and on-the-road information. It is the top local automotive website among the motorists and the motoring industry with more than 13 mil pageviews a month. (Category: Urban Development)
*NEA: Online Reporting Centre - ORC (http://www.orc.gov.sg). The ORC is a one-stop e-service which allows general public to report on any matters without the need to know the jurisdiction of each government agency. In total, 11 agencies participated in this integrated service for public to lodge reports on matters relating to environment, housing maintenance, immigration offence, illegal employment and housing issues. *Ministry of Defence: NS Portal (http://www.ns.sg). The National Service (NS) Portal (www.ns.sg) is the first unified portal that provides information and services conveniently to our NSmen, promotes camaraderie and helps contribute to a positive NS experience through a suite of NS-related online services and community building features. *Ministry of Law: IPTOeSvc/ IPTOBis (http://www.iptoonline.gov.sg). The integration of the two systems allows better efficiency in processing insolvency and trustee matters to the public. The IPTOeSvc offers to the public a comprehensive list of eServices and mobile services while the IPTOBis incorporates workflow and case management functionalities to improve the management of corporate insolvency cases, case accounting and asset realization processes to meet the increasing business requirements. *Singapore Police Force: Electronic Police Centre (http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/ePCLinks.html/) and Self Report Lodging System. With a demand for our police services to be consumed anywhere and anytime, this ePC serves as an electronic channel for lodging of police reports such as reporting of lost properties or reporting of crimes which does not require immediate police action. The Self Report Lodging System project has dedicated kiosks at selected neighborhood police centres for members of public to lodge their reports electronically while waiting to be served. The Small Claims Tribunals System 2 (SCT2) provides a comprehensive case management solution to the Small Claims Tribunals (SCT) of the Subordinate Courts.
