NCS to deliver end-to-end utilities management system for TP Utilities

NCS Pte Ltd has signed an agreement with TP Utilities Pte Ltd (TPU), a subsidiary of one of Singapore’s leading energy companies Tuas Power Ltd, to deliver end-to-end customer service and payment systems for its new Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex (TMUC), located on Jurong Island. The first phase of TMUC is currently under construction, and will comprise Singapore’s first state-of-the-art Biomass-Clean Coal (BMCC) cogeneration plant and other supporting facilities when completed in 2012.

The one-year utilities systems management project undertaken by NCS is part of TPU’s continuing efforts to enhance business and operational efficiency for their customers. From meter data management to billing settlement, utility demand forecasts, fuel management and analytics; and a host of value-added services such as customer self-servicing, the new processes and systems will give TPU an edge in terms of customer service and product differentiation.

The new system will use MECOMS™, Ferranti's end-to-end solution for energy utility markets. The state-of-the-art technology handles all major elements of utility distribution, including billing and customer care. Defining features of MECOMS™ include full integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX, short implementation time, and a user-friendly interface. It enables utilities of any size to streamline business processes and combine high efficiency with first-class customer service.

Leading the design and implementation of the TMUC project is a team comprising Ferranti utility domain experts and NCS consultants trained by Ferranti Headquarters trainers from Belgium. This is the first project to emerge from the tie-up between NCS and Ferranti Computer Systems N.V. in Asia.
