NCS helps to grow the base of skilled IT professionals in China
Singapore – 16 April 2007 - NCS Group, a leading regional information technology and communications engineering service provider in Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, today announced that it is collaborating with Suzhou Industrial Park International Science & Technology Park (SIPIS) on a new training programme to increase the number of qualified developers in China, as part of its continuing agenda to raise IT training standards on the mainland.
Since beginning of this month, SIPIS has offered a new training programme that will certify the students as .NET developers upon completion of the one-month course. NCS will provide the trainers and materials for the course, whilst SIPIS would provide the venue and administration functions for the programme.
This is a pilot programme to answer to the rising need for qualified .NET developers in China. The market response has so far been very positive.
To enrol for the programme, applicants must at least hold a Diploma of Computer Sciences. Attendees ideally should be fresh graduates or have a one to two-year working experience, hoping to enhance their IT skills to meet industry demands. Each student will pay course fees of RMB4,000.00. The course fee will be refunded if the students fail to secure a job upon completion of the course.
“Being an industry leader, NCS hopes to play an instrumental role in shaping the IT talents in China. Partnering with SIPIS, one of our close alliances in China, enables us to fulfill our goal of raising IT quality and standards to cope with increasing demands,” remarks Dr Chong Yoke Sin, CEO, NCS Group.
Graduates of the class would also have a chance to be recruited by NCS as one of their developers. “This is our first co-operation with NCS, which I believe will benefit both parties. Furthermore, the course aids to motivate personnel training of sophisticated software development in our Institute,” said Wang Ying, Head of SIPIS.
NCS China has more than 650 employees in China including Chengdu, Suzhou, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, of which, 98% are local talent. NCS believes strongly in the ongoing investment in the quality of people to position itself as an Employer of Choice.
NCS’ leadership position in China’s IT industry is supported by its ongoing focus on attaining international certification for its China operations. NCS is one of the few China-based IT service providers with CMMI level 5 recognition and aims to gain other standard qualifications in the areas of quality processes (ISO standards) and information technology services management throughout China.
