Singapore, April 13, 2012

Singapore, Thursday, 12 April 2012 – NCS, a leading Singapore IT solutions provider, has won two awards at the recent 3rd Land Transport Excellence Awards (LTEA) 2012, organised by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The LTEA 2012 recognises industry partners and individuals who have played pivotal roles in developing an efficient, sustainable and people-centred land transport system in Singapore. This year, 23 individuals and organisations were honoured at the awards ceremony across 19 categories.

For developing and managing several portals and services, NCS was conferred the Best System Delivery Partner award in recognition of the consistent delivery of quality IT solutions that create value for LTA. NCS also won the award for Most Creative Promotion/ Campaign (Land Transport), which recognises creative excellence in land transport promotion in the public relations, media or publishing industry.

NCS was commissioned by the LTA to develop the ONE.MOTORING, OnePayHub, PublicTransport@SG and MyTransport.SG portal and services. By integrating various systems, NCS provides users with seamless and convenient one-stop portal offerings covering a myriad of transport-related needs.

The ONE.MOTORING and portals integrate with the intelligent traffic system to display real-time traffic data such as camera images, traffic news and road incidents at over 50 locations and expressways. In addition, the Parking Guidance System is seamlessly integrated with these portals to display real-time parking lot availability in over 28 venues in Orchard, HarbourFront and Marina Centre areas. For public bus commuters, the PublicTransport@SGapp and integrate with the bus arrival times system to provide real-time bus arrival timings at bus stops islandwide on an interactive map and mobile web platform.

In response to the LTA’s integrated efforts to engage the diverse commuting community, NCS developed the latest transport portal offering, MyTransport.SG, which has a mobile app version, My Transport app. It has a section which caters to the cycling community by displaying mobile maps of cycling paths and park connectors. To cater to the demand for personalised services, the MyConcierge feature was introduced for commuters to select their preferred services and save their preferences. Data mall, a section catering to interested third party application developers, was also created to provide transportrelated data for development of possible transport apps.

The MyTransport mobile app goes one step further in offering location-based information for some of the popular services, such as availability of selected commercial car park facilities and their charges, ERP rates, bus arrival and bus routes, as well as bus routes for premium private buses.

“We are honoured to have won these awards, which acknowledged NCS’ contributions towards Singapore’s land transport and showcased the industry best practices. NCS’ ability to understand the whole value chain in urban transport management has enabled us to provide effective and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the Singapore transport landscape. It is through our consistent and integrated efforts in working with LTA that we are able to improve accessibility to services and flow of information to commuters,” said Mr Chia Wee Boon, Chief Executive Officer, NCS.

“Looking ahead, we envision greater use of next generation technologies such as business intelligence and analytics to further enhance the convenience and the commuting experience of the public,” he added.

NCS portal development offerings include integrated end-to-end marketing services to help drive traffic and manage the branding of portals. This includes conducting publicity campaigns using social media and discussion platforms, engaging bloggers and organising events and contests to promote public engagement and drive traffic to the portals.
