NCS Celebrates SG50 with the Launch of NCS Technology Evolution Book
Singapore, May 23, 2015
NCS, the leading Info-Communication Technology (ICT) provider in Asia Pacific launches NCS Technology Evolution book to commemorate the Nation’s IT transformation from the very beginning of Singapore’s computerisation journey.
Through the lens of NCS’ history, this book will take you back to the very beginning of Singapore’ computerisation journey, when IT pioneers like Minister Lim Swee Say, Mr Philip Yeo and Dr Tan Chin Nam helped seed and steer a massive effort to computerise Singapore’s civil service.
“The history of NCS is closely intertwined with Singapore’s IT story, from the start of computerisation in the early 1980s to the new era in the digital age,” said Mr Chia Wee Boon, CEO of NCS.
“We are deeply committed and will continue to provide our fullest support as Singapore stands at the cusp of another exciting transformation – its re-invention as the world’s first Smart Nation,” said Mr Chia.
NCS will be donating the NCS Technology Evolution to the National Library Board (NLB) as part of Singapore’s jubilee year celebration. Public may visit the public libraries and discover Singapore’s IT transformation journey over the past five decades.
“With the support from the National Library Board, the public can have access to NCS Tech Evolution. We hope everyone will enjoy reading this book, appreciate the contributions of the pioneers and many unsung heroes,” said Mr Chia.
Copies of the NCS Tech Evolution will be available at the public libraries by 30 June, 2015.
