EMC and NCS to jointly target high growth markets in China, Hong Kong and Australia for new growth opportunities
EMC Corporation, the worldwide leader in information management and storage, today announced the expansion of its partnership with NCS Pte Ltd, a leading regional IT and communications engineering services provider in Singapore, from Singapore to 14 other Asian markets including Australia, China and Hong Kong. This partnership brings together NCS’ systems integration expertise and EMC’s world-class information management and storage solutions to address the demand for robust information infrastructure.
Ron Goh, Vice President of Partners/Alliance and Commercial/SME Business, EMC Asia Pacific, said, “NCS is a longtime partner of EMC in Singapore, with more than 50 mutual customers. Our partnership with NCS brings together the best of two worlds – NCS’ domain expertise and EMC’s integrated information management solutions. We’re seeing significant demand from customers looking for new and improved ways to better manage their information throughout its lifecycle, while driving costs out and retaining their competitive edge. We intend to build on the success achieved in the Singapore market and further expand into regional key markets with strong growth opportunities. Our relationship with NCS is a testament to EMC’s commitment to helping our partners succeed.”
Tan Goh Beng, Chief of Technology Solutions, NCS Pte Ltd said, “The storage and information management markets are growing healthily in Asia Pacific. Both NCS and EMC are in a good position to tap on the regional opportunities to enjoy joint wins in Singapore and beyond. NCS’ expanded partnership with EMC is a step towards evolving NCS into a storage solutions powerhouse for Asia Pacific where our strong local expertise can be extended. NCS has also been awarded the EMC Velocity Premier Partner and Authorised Service Network status, which are strong testimony of the solid foundation established between the two organizations.”
Over the past year, EMC and NCS have jointly won and implemented several large-scale public- and private-sector projects beyond Singapore. This includes the recent award by Hong Kong SAR Government's Logistics Department to NCS to provide a one-stop solution for the Immigration Department's new Application and Investigation Easy System and Electronic Records and Document Management System. This multi-year, multi-million Hong Kong dollar contract will provide Hong Kong Immigration Department with a secure document and record management solution using EMC Symmetrix DMX 1000 for high end storage and EMC Centera for corporate compliance and assured content authenticity and products from EMC Documentum for enterprise content management. The total solution will enable the end users to cope with the growth in workload and move towards a workflow-based, paperless environment.
Ms Tham Ai Chyn, Chief Executive Officer of NCS China said, “We look forward to extending our solid foundation to support our existing and new customers in China. A recent joint EMC-NCS project is with L’Oreal in China where EMC Symmetrix DMX and EMC CLARiiON networked storage systems provide a robust information infrastructure for the business. The solution has been successfully implemented in September 2005. Moving forth, we are committed to leverage on our strong partnership with EMC to create greater business value for our customers in China.”
